Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas, Inc. wins Texas Interactive Media Awards
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas added two more awards to its Hall of Fame this past week. The Texas Interactive Media honored CCCS Dallas' online educational program, Money$mart*Credit$mart, with the Outstanding Program Award in both the Education and Public Service categories.
Ray Hooper, Education and Housing Director for CCCS Dallas, attended the awards ceremony in Austin on March 14, 2004. This online consumer financial education product was made possible by a grant from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
The Texas Interactive Media group annually spotlights Texas multimedia and interactive products notable for their achievement and deserving of public recognition. The judging is done on the basis of content, quality, interactivity, creativity and innovation.
Money$mart*Credit*$mart is available free of charge on the CCCS Dallas Education website www.consumercollege.org. This interactive learning tool provides money and credit management instruction in both English and Spanish. Over two hours of training materials address all aspects of money and credit. The program is self-paced and embedded with calculators for ease of use, and includes a downloadable, printable workbook.
Future plans include adding online homebuyer education instruction for prospective homebuyers. Check the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas website, www.cccs.net, for current educational presentations open to the public.
