Ilyce Glink to Speak at Second Annual CCCS Purses with a Purpose Award winning personal finance, advice and real estate columnist to provide colorful insight on the state of women and finances at October 18 event in Dallas
Dallas - September 6, 2011 - Women's financial literacy will receive another boost this fall with the second annual Purses With a Purpose event hosted by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS). Ilyce Glink, author, television reporter, talk show host and award winning columnist for CBS Moneywatch, will be the featured speaker and Gloria Campos, WFAA evening anchor, is again serving as the event's honorary chair and mistress of ceremonies.
Purses With a Purpose is a silent auction and ticketed event that raises money to underwrite community outreach and financial education classes for low income women taught by CCCS at domestic violence shelters; area legal clinics; child care centers; job re-entry and training programs. The event will be held at the Samuel Lynne Galleries in the Dallas Design District on the evening of Tuesday, Oct.18 from 6 - 9 p.m.
"It is imperative that women in Dallas are fully equipped with the tools necessary to help avoid or manage a financial crisis, and CCCS is on board to prepare them to weather any financial storm," said Todd Mark, vice president of education for CCCS of Greater Dallas. "By hosting this entertaining and informative evening, we are able to expand our reach, as well as spread the word about the importance of financial education for women. We are so excited to have such a well-versed personal finance professional in Ilyce Glink to help families learn how to take control of their finances in this turbulent economy."
