Dallas - April 7, 2011 - Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS of Greater Dallas), a nonprofit provider of credit and housing counseling and financial education, announces the local finalists of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling's 2011 National Be Money Wi$e Poster Contest. This year's contest theme was, "Be a Super Hero, Save Money."
CCCS of Greater Dallas chose Yudah I. Diaz, a fourth grader from Eastwood Heights Elementary in El Paso; Sophia Radke, a home-schooled sixth grader from Duncanville; and Danielle Letourneau, an eleventh grader from the Frisco ISD Career & Technical Education Center as its agency winners from Texas. The local winners receive a $20 gift card and an NFCC poster contest T-shirt. The entries were submitted into the national contest as the CCCS of Greater Dallas' finalists. National winners will be announced in April during Financial Literacy Month.
"Our local winners represent youth in the community wonderfully, and we are so proud," said Todd Mark, vice president of education for CCCS of Greater Dallas. "We believe this poster contest helps children learn more about developing smart and responsible financial skills. We know the younger one understands financial literacy, there is a better chance at becoming successful and happy."
Students from public or private schools, as well as home-schooled children, were invited to enter the contest. Entries were judged on expression of the theme, artistic style and creativity.
CCCS of Greater Dallas supports the poster contest because it helps promote the importance of wise money management for everyone of all ages and encourages the importance of early financial education for America's youth.
