Albert Data Storage, Consumer Credit Counseling Service and the Credit Bureau of North Texas CheckNet Invite Wichita Falls Community to Free Shred Day
Wichita Falls - April 11, 2007 - To protect consumers against identity theft, a crime that affects more than nine million Americans each year, Albert Data Storage, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, and the Credit Bureau/CheckNet of North Texas will host the second annual "Free Community Shred Day" on Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to noon at Albert Data Storage in Wichita Falls.
The public is invited to bring sensitive materials, including credit cards, check stubs, receipts or out-of-date documents, during the event to be shredded in The Paper Pig, Albert Data Storage's shredder.
"With the prevalence of identity theft today, it is important to shred unnecessary documents to better protect yourself from falling victim to this crime," said Gail Cunningham, vice president of business relations for CCCS Dallas. "We are proud to be a part of the second annual 'Free Community Shred Day' with Albert Data Storage and the Credit Bureau/CheckNet of North Texas to help raise awareness of identity theft and offer The Paper Pig to the community for free."
Albert Data Storage will shred for free up to 70 pounds of materials per household, with a $10 charge applied to additional loads up to the same weight. The Paper Pig can eat 5,000 sheets of paper per hour and recycles these materials to save more than 6,000 trees, 1,000 cubic yards of landfill space and more than 2.3 million gallons of water per year.
Albert Data Storage's shredding facility is at 4401 Barnett Road, between Kell Blvd. and Southwest Parkway, in Wichita Falls. For more information about "Free Community Shred Day," contact Nick Graham, Albert Data Storage manager, at (940) 696-7080.
